I am beyond honored and pleased to have been awarded a sabbatical leave for the 2025 fall semester by Florida International University to travel to Costa Rica and research the indigenous instruments and using them create an orchestra work that highlights them. I plan to utilize the sound spectra of each of the instruments to create the orchestra parts. The premiere is tentatively scheduled for the 2026-27 season in Costa Rica and I am greatly indebted to the Universidad de Costa Rica and it’s faculty as well as the others interested in assisting me with this project.
