Tomorrow Tuesday, August 4, I will be leaving for a 3 week artists residency at the Visby International Composers Center (VICC) on the island of Gotland just off the coast of Sweden. I will be creating a new work for Henry Sparnaay one of the greatest champions and virtuosos of the bass clarinet in the history of the instrument. The piece being written for him and his proteges will be for solo bass clarinet and electronics. I am looking forward to creating the work at the VICC and to it’s eventual premiere later in the coming season.
