Paisaje del sonido II performed at the University of Illinois 9/20/01 as part of the Sal Martirano award with the composer conducting and Michael Cameron featured bass soloist (composer received first prize in 2001 competition). World premiere 2/19/00 by the Miami String Quartet and bassist Luis Gomez Imbert at the New Music Miami Festival. Subsequent performances by Mr. Imbert with the Cuarteto Latinoamericano and Bert Turetzky with the UCSD faculty players.

silencios imaginados, for chamber ensemble (fl, cl, vl, vlc, piano) commissioned by the Assisi Musiche Ensemble premiered at the Chamber Music Festival (Harmonia Mundi) held August 21 -20 in Assisi, Italy and again at the Omaggio a John Cage festival held in Acqui Terme Italy in October 2001.

fragmentos del pasado, for guitar and string quartet; winner of the Nuevas Resonancias competition (Mexico); premiered by the Cuarteto Latinoamericano and guitarist Manuel Alcantara at the Chamber Music Festival in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico 8/5/01 as part of the award (prize includes release on CD and cash prize).

fragmentos de la noche (night fragments) for solo cello for NY based cellist, Maya Beiser; premiered May 6 as part of the concert/award ceremony presented by the Joyce Dutka Foundation in NY (composer received one of 4 first prizes in the Foundation's composer competition).

vientos en la distancia for 2 clarinets, piano, strings (wind chimes). Premiered by the Solistas de Madrid at the International Music Festival in Salamanca, Spain, 3/2/01 with the composer conducting.

Core Interlude (interludio) for the Core ensemble (vlc, piano, percussion) premiered in the spring of 2001 at several venues as part of a larger theater work entitled, tres vidas. The chamber version was premiered by the Core Ensemble in July 2001 as part of concerts in Australia and subsequently in the US during the fall and winter of 2002.

una luz en la neblina distante, (in a new version for oboe and 4 percussionists), premiered by oboist Leon Biriotti and the FIU Percussion Ensemble with the composer conducting at the Music of the Americas Festival held at Florida International University in Miami 1/18-20.

fragmentos romanos for the NY based Continuum Ensemble (sop, vln, clar, pno) premiered November 2001 at the Festival Latinamericano de Musica in Caracas, Venezuela; (visiting artist residency at the American Academy in Rome realized during July-August 2000 for the creation of the piece). NY premiere at the Sonic Boom Fest 11/11/01.

Cuatro, Re-encounter, Paisaje del Sonido II, performed at the Wolfsonian Museum on Miami Beach, FL, 10/13/00 as part of a concert of music by the composer sponsored by the Wolfsonian and the Cintas Foundation. Performers include the Cuarteto Latinoamericano and bassist Luis Gomez Imbert.

Re-encounter for electric guitar, vibraphone, and contrabass
premiered 10/4/00 by NODUS as part of the FIU Festival of the Arts.

aire, madera, y metal performed by bassoonist Doug Spaniol as part of the International Double Reed Conference held in Buenos Aires, Argentina 8/10-14/00.

Treno para las Americas, (new version for small orchestra) performed in Cali, Columbia by the National Orchestra from Cali as part of a concert of music by Cuban composers 6/29/00.

Music for Toronto for the ArrayMusic ensemble premiered 5/12/00 at Trinity-St. Paul's Centre in Toronto, Canada.
