Attended the European premiere of cuatro performed 11/5 by the Amernet string quartet at the Museo Esteban Vicente in Segovia, Spain. Residency completed at the LIEM (Music Technology Center) in Madrid 11/6 – 8 for the creation of the electronic part for the new work being written for Pierre-Yves Artaud’s OFF ensemble.

Lecture presentation: The Use of Silence and the Evolution of Time in Contemporary Music (lecture in Spanish) at the Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato, Mexico 10/17; premiere of puentes sonoros on 10/19. More

Gave pre-concert talk on 9/24 at Haverford College before the premiere of Music for Italy performed by flutist Andrea Ceccomori and pianist Eliza Harbova. Presented master classes and lectures at Temple University on 9/25 and the University of Maryland Baltimore County 9/26. More

Lectured at LIPM (Music Technology Center) in Buenos Aires, Argentina 7/14-28 and worked at the center with visual artist Jacek Kolasinski on a new work for cellist Madeleine Shapiro. Attended the premiere of temporal (video version).

Lectured about my music at the San Diego New Music Festival June 14 – 17, 2007 and attend the performance of my work el silencio despues de la lluvia.

Worked at the Centro Mexicano para las Artes Sonoras (CMAS) in Morelia, Mexico (5/27-31) on the electronic part of a new piece written for the sequenza sur ensemble based in Merida. The work is a commission from the ensemble and the Cervantino Festival for premiere at the festival in October 2007.

Lectured on my music and presented master classes at the National University for the Arts in Merida, Mexico (5/24-27). Also conducted a performance of my work horizontes imaginados, and diffused the sound for my work mixtura; both presented by the sequenza sur ensemble in Merida.

Presented a 4 day workshop on Contemporary Music and my work at the National Conservatory in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic 5/2-5; included the performance of olas and oscurecimiento gradual as part of a noontime concert held at the conservatory.

Participated at the Society of Electroacoustic Music in the US (SEAMUS) National Conference held at Iowa State University March 8 - 10, 2007. Diffused the sound for my work paisaje del sonido (version for contrabass and CD) presented at the conference.

Participated in pre-concert and post concert activities as part of a performance of my work Music for Segovia presented by Sequitur at Merkin Concert Hall in NYC 1/8/07. The concert and my work received a very positive review in the New York Times.

Presented a lecture on my work as well as music from the USA as part of the International ISCM Music Festival held in Bucharest, Rumania in December 2006. In addition to my presentation I attended the performance of my work silencios imaginados by the TRAECT ensemble, presented as part of the festival.

Participation at the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) held at Tulane University 11/06. Diffused the sound for my work temporal presented at the international conference.

World Music Days in Stutgaart, Germany 7/06 –partcipation as part of ISCM General Assembly.

Lecture and panel participation at the National Conservatory to preview the performance of my work, vedute sonore da Bellagio, performed 2/23/06 by the National Orchestra in San Salvador, El Salvador as part of the International New Music Festival presented 2/20 – 2/24/2006.

The percussion piano duo Thierry Miroglio and Ancuza Aprodu premiered, September 2007 (remembering Morty) at the Université d'Artois Municipal Arras Theater in Arras, France just north of Paris. The work was written for the duo and is in memory of Morton Feldman who passed away 20 years ago in September of 1987.

NODUS performed silencios imaginados as part of a concert of music by Cuban composers presented at the Miami Art Museum on Sunday, March 2 at 3:00 PM.

puentes sonoros (sonic bridges) premiered by the Sequenza Sur ensemble. Written for the group the work is for chamber ensemble and electronics and includes video images by Jacek Kolasinski and John Stuart. The premiere took place on 10/19 at the Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato, Mexico. Additional performances Saturday, October 20 at 8:00 PM in the Teatro de la Republica in Queretaro and on Sunday October 21 at 6:00 PM in the Centro Cultural y de Convenciones de San Juan del Rio (also in Queretaro).

Visual artists and musicians approach images and sound in different ways. This concert features works by composers that have incorporated visual images into their music either by combining them with computer generated sounds and/or more traditional orchestral instruments as well as those that have collaborated with visual artists in the creation of their works. Works to be presented include those by Eve Beglarian, Kristine Burns, Orlando Jacinto Garcia, Dennis Miller, Judith Shatin, and Reynold Weidenaar. Initiated by faculty composer Orlando Jacinto Garcia, NODUS is the contemporary music ensemble in residence at Florida International University's School of Music.

silencios imaginados is being presented December 10, 2006 by the TRAIECT Ensemble in Bucharest, Romania as part of the Romanian ISCM Section's International Music Festival.
