As of May 1, 2014 and after 4 and half years I have left the job as director of the FIU School of Music and accepted the position of composer in residence at our FIU CARTA Miami Beach Urban Studios – while continuing my work as professor of composition and coordinator of the composition program for the School of Music. During the summer and Fall semesters I will be on research assignment composing at artists residencies, and lecturing and conducting my works at festivals and other related events in the US and abroad. I am very proud of what we where able to achieve as a School in those 4 plus years but my research and creative activities have compelled me to move on to this new post. As the composer in residence at our Miami Beach Urban Studios I will be creating and curating new works to be presented at the Studios by our faculty, students, and guest artists and ensembles, bringing additional visibility to the space while continuing my work as a composer nationally and internationally.
