Looking forward to the opening of my new installation at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami next week. The installation brings to life the instruments in the music room that given how old they are no longer playable. I have created digital samples of each that will be triggered by motion sensor as the public walks by the room. More here
It’s a great pleasure to be participating once again this November in the Festival de la Habana de Musica Contemporanea. This fall I will be conducting the premiere in Havana of my work asimetrias for string orchestra with the ensemble musica eterna on Wednesday November 15. In addition, my solo violla work la fuente de los coyotes will be performed by virtuoso Anolan Gonzalez on November 17 and my choral work el sonido dulce will be performed by the Schola Cantorum Coralina on Saturday November 18. More information to come.
Looking forward to my participation in the General Assembly during the ISCM World Music Days in Vancouver November 2 – 8 and to my presentation of an “Awesome Talk” on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The TedX type talk will focus on the perception of time in music and of course in my case the freezing of time that certain types of works can create. Also very much looking forward to the concerts and other related events.
